Philippe Willems

15 years B2B business development experience with Amylum/Tate & Lyle, a major starch multinational. During this part of his career, he accumulated significant understanding of non-food markets, but managed also food projects and several fermentation-related projects.

In 2003, Philippe created Value for Technology, a consulting company active in business development of renewable resources. Since 2007, Philippe has been involved in algae-related projects, going from feasibility studies, partner matching and marketing plan edition.

Hans Van Daele

22 years B2B business development, strategic marketing and sales, in Health and Nutritional ingredients markets, by developing and managing start-up specialty ingredient businesses in food, supplements and pharmaceutical industries.

He managed projects from idea prototypeing, the allocation of financial investment towards ingredient development and the design of consumer concepts. Assignments in DSM, Bush Boake & Allen, McCormick, Cargill and currently business director in BNLFood. In 2007 he founded the consultancy company CoupdeFoodre, a business development consultancy company active in health & nutrition.

Bôke Tjeerdsma

18 years of experience on industrial application and market introduction of biomaterials and building materials. Specific skills on material technology (wood, fibers composites and natural oils), thermal and chemical conversion and modification of biopolymers. Coordinator of projects with national and international teams. Founder of "Biobased Applications", a consultancy company providing business services for industrial application of green feedstock and green chemistry.

Carl Van der Auwera

Carl obtained his PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University Ghent (BE) in 1986. He worked 20 years for Degussa in Antwerp Belgium (today Evonik Antwerp) where he was respectively Head Development Lab, Head Central Lab and Plant Manager (Vitamin products for the feed, food and pharma industry).

In 2007 Carl joined essenscia, the Belgian industry federation for chemistry and life sciences, as their Senior Advisor Science, Technology and Innovation. He is member of several national and international project steering committees and boards.
